On-Campus Housing Arrival and Stay Details

The pre-arrival and stay document is a comprehensive guide to check-in procedures and other helpful information about your stay. Note that it's a general document for all summer conferences and there are a few exceptions for UC Tech:

  • Ignore the information about meals. Your UC Tech registration includes several meals; see schedule at-a-glance for details.
  • UC Tech housing guests only (not all conference attendees) will be required to confirm they agree with Covid-19 vaccination and testing policies in effect at UC San Diego housing facilities. Information has been emailed out to those with reservations.

All Check-ins and Check-outs will take place at the Hospitality Information Desk located in Sixth College/North Torrey Pines Living Learning, adjacent to the Muir Neighborhood unless otherwise arranged.

Check-in / Check-out Hours

The Hospitality Information Desk is open for check-in 7:00 AM-11:00 PM (if you're planning an arrival outside these hours contact  858-967-4914).

UC Tech conference checkout on Wednesday, August 17 is 3:00 PM

Check-in Parking and Overnight Parking

If you are arriving by car, please park in the Scholars Drive Parking Structure (enter 9655 Scholars Drive North as the coordinates in your MapQuest). Hourly visitor parking is available for short term needs using ParkMobile App or by purchasing a permit for one of the kiosks located near the Elevators in the parking structure. The first 30 minutes is complimentary in any of the V spots using the ParkMobile App or one of the kiosks.

For overnight parking, learn more about conference parking rates or UC reciprocal permits. Note that parking is not enforced in campus lots 10 p.m. - 7 a.m.

Keys and Check-in and Check-out

At check-in, participants will receive an e-lock keycard for suite doors and a hard key for their individual bedroom.

Upon check-out, the e-lock keycard and bedroom key must be returned. If keys are not returned, the participant will be charged (via the masterbill) for the key and/or lock replacement fee of $20.00.

Late check-outs are not permitted unless pre-arranged with your program organizer and approved by HDH. Guests who do not check-out during the designated time will be subject to a late fee charge equal to one (1) night’s stay at the nightly rate of the reservation (charged via the masterbill).

Internet

Internet access is included in your stay. Wireless will be available in most of the housing areas. Once you are connected and open your browser, you will be directed to a Residential Network (ResNet) Authentication website with the option to register as a Guest. For wireless internet access on the main campus, the UCSD-GUEST wireless network will only require agreeing to the AUP. For any questions or problems with the network, please call ResNet at 858-534-2267. Additional information, including steps for the requirements listed above can be found on the ResNet website: http://acms.ucsd.edu/students/resnet/conf/
