Tuesday Evening Birch Aquarium Reception and UC Tech Awards Presentation

At the end of the first full day of conference activities, we've got a treat for you! Join us at the Birch Aquarium perched atop the cliffs of La Jolla with sweeping views of the Pacific Ocean and Scripps Pier. 

What to Expect

• Hosted reception 6:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. Enjoy drinks and a meal consisting of small-bite culinary delights and serving stations, accompanied by conversation and the wonders of ocean habitats. 
• UC Tech Awards Presentation 7:30 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. honoring recipients of inaugural UC Tech Awards.
• Do you recall what Mark Twain had to say about his summer in San Francisco? The sentiment can equally be applied to La Jolla evenings (even in August). The reception and awards presentation are both outdoors. Do bring a jacket!

Getting There and Back

• Shuttles will be provided and depart Price Center Loop starting at 5:15 p.m. and run on a continuous circuit with last PC pickup at 5:45 p.m. The shuttle stop is just north of the building. From the Atrium food court on the first floor, proceed toward the door past Burger King and the Campus Police office and out the door. 
• After that shuttles, leave Birch and make stops at Price Center and Sheraton La Jolla, with last shuttle departing Birch at 9:00 p.m. 
• Parking at Birch is limited and reserved for event staff. Feel free to use the rideshare service of your choice as an alternative to the shuttle service. Your driver can enter the following address in their Mapquest: 2300 Expedition Way, La Jolla, CA 92037.
